Aswan & Nubia
Aswan & Nubia
أسوان والنوبة
Granite islands, felucca sailing and Nubian villages at the gateway to the south.
Aswan sits where granite islands break the Nile into channels, at the historic gateway to Nubia. Feluccas sail around Elephantine and Kitchener's Island, Nubian villages line the west bank, and the city is the starting point for Philae, Abu Simbel and Lake Nasser. Its ancient quarries still hold the Unfinished Obelisk.
