Karnak Temple
معابد الكرنك
Temple complex of Amun-Ra with the Great Hypostyle Hall of 134 columns.
Karnak was the great religious centre of ancient Thebes, dedicated above all to the god Amun-Ra. Pharaohs added to it for some two thousand years, so its pylons, obelisks, courts and chapels form one of the largest temple complexes ever built. The Great Hypostyle Hall, with its 134 giant columns carved with scenes and inscriptions, is its most celebrated space.
