Aswan & Nubia
Philae Temple
معبد فيلة
Temple of Isis, relocated to Agilkia Island in the UNESCO Nubia campaign.
The temple of Isis at Philae was one of the last places where the ancient Egyptian religion was practised. When the Aswan dams threatened to submerge it, the temple was dismantled and rebuilt on nearby Agilkia Island during UNESCO's international campaign to save the monuments of Nubia. It is reached by boat.
